Friday 29th June 2007

Another good day for the Sports Trader. I traded on 11 horse races and had just 1 loss which brought to an end a run of 34 consecutive wining trades.

My day started off with a trade in the 14:10 at Market Rasen where I laid Perfect Punch for 357 @ 9.80 and also laid Chalice Welcome for £1 @ 24.00, to result in a profit of £58. I followed this with 2 small winning trades.

The best result of my day came in the 15:10 at Market Rasen where I laid Hum for £150 @ 10.73, when making a mistake 2 hurdles out, to result in a profit of £150. I followed this with another small winning trade.

In the 16:10 at Market Rasen I backed Love That Benny for £480 @ 1.10, when in the lead and well clear of the field to result in a profit of £48. Next I had 3 more small winning trades.

My only loss of the day came in the 20:20 at Newcastle where I backed Shot To Fame for £20 @ 1.01 to lose me £20. My final trade of the day came in the 20:50 at Newcastle and resulted in a small profit.

My day had finished with a profit of £246.

The Sports Trader had a good day. I only traded on 5 horse races but again had no losing trades.

My day started with the 15:00 at Newcastle where I backed Montaquila for £382 @ 1.32 to get my day off with a profit of £123. I followed this with a small winning trade.

In the 17:00 at Newcastle I laid Cheery Cat for £87 @ 8.80 to result in a profit of £87. My next trade was in the 17:20 at Warwick where I backed Trafalgar Day for £300 @ 1.03 on the run in to result in a profit of £10. The final trade of my day was in the 21:30 at Hamilton which resulted in a small profit.

My day finished with a profit of £225.

Wednesday 27th June 2007

It has been a good day for the Sports Trader with 13 horse races and 1 football match traded and with no losses.

My day started in the early hours with the Uruguay v Peru football match. I had been trading on the under 2.5 goals market but ended with an all square book after the third goal was scored. I then went on to trade the correct goal market and managed to make £157 profit. I also had a small trade on the under 3.5 goal market and made a further £7.

My race trading got under way in the 16:30 at Carlisle where I ended with a small profit. In the 16:40 at Salisbury I laid Mutawassel for £18 @ 25.00 and backed back £6 @ 44.00 to result in a profit of £12.

Then came the evening racing and I started with the 18:20 at Kempton where I laid October Ben for £11 @ 9.90 and a further £10 @ 19.00 to result in a profit of £21. I followed this with a small winning trade.

In the 19:10 @ Bath I laid Tizzydore for £15 @ 21.00 for a profit of £21. Next was the 19:30 at Naas where I backed Sorolla for £102 @ 1.50 and later for £101 @ 1.01 to result in a profit of £52. My next two races both resulted in small profits.

In the 20:10 at Bath I laid High Seasons for £15 @ 26.00 to secure another £15 profit. I followed this with a small winning trade.

In the 20:50 at Kempton I backed Samarinda for £10 @ 1.40 and laid Bee Stinger for £46 @ £10 to result in a profit of £50. Next came another small winning trade.

My final trade of the day came next in the 21:10 at Bath where I laid Willhewiz for £5 @ 34.00 and then I laid Golden Brown for £69 @ 10.00 to result in my best race trade profit of the day at £74.

My day had therefore finished with a total profit of £421.

Tuesday 26th June 2007

The Sports Trader has had the first full day of trading for nearly a week. I still only managed to trade on 7 horse races with 1 big loss but I did come out in front.

It does appear to me that liquidity is still quite poor on all the exchanges so out task is made that little bit harder.

My first trade was in the 16:00 at Brighton but this only resulted in a small profit.

My only loss of the day came in the 19:00 at Sligo where I backed High Diving for £222 @ 1.11 to result in a loss of £222. I knew, the second I hit the submit button, that I was wrong on this one but it is not possible to cancel a trade like this now with Betdaq so I had to suffer this loss.

I made up for the loss in my next race, the 19:30 at Sligo, where I backed Indian Love for £21 @ 3.00 and then for £361 @ 2.92. I laid off £19 @ 2.60, £130 @ 2.45, £10 @ 2.20 and £224 @ 1.76 to leave myself with a profit of £335.

In the 19:35 at Newbury I laid Lush for £35 @ 47.00 when well out of contention to result in a profit of £35. I followed this up with a small winning trade.

Next was the 20:05 at Newbury where I laid Propaganda for £19 @ 9.40 to result in a profit of £19.

My final race trade of the day was in the 20:40 at Newbury where I laid Gull Wing for £46 @ 7.60 to end my day off with a profit of £46.

So my first full day back has resulted in a profit of £217.

Finally we received the cheque from Lloyds TSB for the repayment of all bank charges and interest from an old account that my wife used, that I wrote about on 8th May 2007 and 10th May 2007. It has only taken Lloyds 7 weeks to process this payment.

Monday 25th June 2007

The Sports Trader hopes to get back on track this week but I do still have my visitors with me today. I take them back to Prestwick Airport in the early evening. I did manage to trade on 3 horse races and 1 football match today with no losses.

My race trades all resulted in small profits so there is nothing more to say about them.

After dropping my visitors off I came back and settled down to watching the Bohemians v Waterford football match. I had missed all the first half and laid the under 2.5 goals market in the second half for £100 @ 1.25, £250 @ 1.15 and £5 @ 1.08. In the final 5 minutes I laid the unders for £181 @ 1.01 which resulted in a profit of £61.

I also backed the No 2nd goal market for £10 @ 1.31 to return me another £3.

My day had therefore ended with a profit of £71.

Sunday 24th June 2007

Just a very short entry to round off the weeks trading. In hindsight I should have left trading alone whilst entertaining my visitors. My weekend has been great socially but terrible as far as trading goes. I normally expect to make a minimum of £300 over the weekend but this weekend I lost over £700.

The result for the week is a very disappointing loss of £348.

Friday 22nd June 2007

The Sports Trader has only traded on 8 races today due to me spending more time with my visitors. All trades were profitable.

My first three trades were all small winning ones. In the 16:45 at Ayr I backed Avoriaz for £500 @ 1.02 when well clear and approaching the finishing line to result in a profit of £10.

My next four trades were all small winning ones. This left me with a profit of £35 on the day.

Thursday 21st June 2007

Sorry for the late updates but as explained in my earlier posts I am entertaining my Mum, Dad and Sister so have been away from my office a lot and trading very little. It has been good spending time with them all as they have not been to see me for 4 years.

My day started with the 14:10 at Ripon where I backed Upper Class for £51 @ 2.00 to result in a profit of £51.

In the 14:55 at Lingfield I laid Dora's Green for £22 @ 2.00 before laying off £2 @ 47.00 to result in a profit of £20. My next three trades were all small winning ones.

In the 20:40 at Towcester I laid Monsieur Georges for £11 @ 16.00 and a further £13 @ 19.00 to give me a profit of £24. My next trade was another small winning one.

The last trade of my day was in the 21:10 at Towcester where I laid Pre Token for £13 @ 2.00 to result in what I thought was a profit of £13 only to see yet another result over-turned in the stewards room which cost me £13.

My day had finished with a profit of £89.

Wednesday 20th June 2007

The Sports Trader had another interrupted day as I am getting the house ready for my Mum, Dad and Sister to stay with me. It is likely that I will trade less over the next few days as well. I did still manage to trade in 12 horse races, with 1 loss.

My day started with the 15:30 at Worcester, where I backed Are You There for £24 @ 2.00 inside the last furlong and considered myself lucky to see her just hold on to the line to result in a profit of £24.

In the Prince Of Wales Stakes at Ascot I laid Red Rocks for £45 @ 6.00 with 2 furlongs to go when being urged by Frankie to quicken with no response to result in a profit of £45. This was a great match between Manduro, the eventual winner, and Dylan Thomas, you can watch the full race here with the BBC recording.

My next race resulted in a small profit. Then in the 16:45 at Worcester I backed Ballyboley for £40 @ 2.80 before laying off @ 2.32 and later with the race won I backed him for a further £380 @ 1.04 to result in a profit of £29.

In the 17:20 at Worcester I laid Keepitsecret for £50 @ 5.00 and backed back £5 @ 7.10 to land a profit of £45. I followed this with 5 small winning trades.

My only losing trade of the day came in the 21:00 at Leopardstown where I had laid Impudent for £48 @ 3.10 when I thought she would struggle to win the race, how wrong could I be. By the time I realised I was on the wrong side with this I could not trade out of trouble and landed myself a loss of £101. I had one more trade in the last at Kempton that resulted in a small profit.

So my day had finished with another disappointing profit of £53.

Tuesday 19th June 2007

The Sports Trader had another disrupted day as I was without my Au-pair again. I did trade in 11 races but ended with a small loss after my last trade of the day went wrong. It was good to see the opening ceremony of Royal Ascot. I love that sort of thing and it makes me proud to be British.

Royal_ascot

My day started off with a small winning trade in the 14:30 at Ascot. Then in the 15:45 St.James's Palace Stakes I backed Excellent Art on the run in for £110 @ 1.10 to result in a profit of £11.

Next was the 16:05 at Thirsk where I laid Borodinsky for £10 @ 21.00 to give me a profit of £10. I followed this with a small winning trade.

The first of my two losses of the day came next in the 18:45 at Newton Abbot where I had backed South Wind Rising for £40 @ 1.25 when appearing to have the race won, only to see Mr Tim come and take the race, which cost me £40. I followed this with a small winning trade.

In the 19:15 at Newton Abbot I laid Darusso for £100 @ 5.50 and then went on to back back £32 @ 7.00, £5 @ 20.00 and £12 @ 13.00 to leave me with a profit of £52. Next was another small profitable trade.

In the 19:45 at Newton Abbot I laid Gipsy Cricketer for £24 @ 12.00 to result in a profit of £24. Then in the 21:00 at Yarmouth I backed Dramatic for £214 @ 1.48 before laying all off @ 1.36 to give me a profit of £26.

It hadn't been a great day but the last race took all my profits away. It was in the 21:15 at Newton Abbot where I laid Ambrosinni for £184 @ 3.70. I did lay off £44 @ 4.47, £21 @ 5.60 and £34 @ 5.00 but I was still left with a loss of £110 on the race.

My day had therefore finished with a loss of just under £10.
