Thursday 20th September 2007

It was a quiet day for the Sports Trader with only 5 horse races traded but with no losses.

I started with the 14:20 at Ayr where I laid Hamish McGonagall for £31 @ 8.00 to start the day with a £31 profit.

In the 14:25 at Listowel I laid Houmairi for £3 @ 4.20 and a further £23 @ 8.10 to result in a profit of £26. I followed this with 2 small but profitable trades.

The final trade of my day came in the 21:20 at Wolverhampton where I backed Kansas Gold for £7 @ 5.10 to return a profit of £29.

My day had finished with a profit of £92.

Wednesday 19th September 2007

A much better day for the sports Trader today after trading on 8 horse races and 1 football match.

My day started with the 14:00 at Beverley where I back Prigsnov Dancer for £233 @ 1.30 to result in a profit of £70.

In the 14:05 at Listowel I backed Westlake for £5 @ 1.80 and then £476 @ 1.40 to return a profit of £195.

Next was the 14:35 at Beverley where I backed Eastern Romance for £41 @ 1.50 to produce a £20 profit. I followed this with a small losing trade.

The best result of my day came next, in the 16:30 at Yarmouth, where I backed Samira Gold for £217 @ 1.97 to result in a profit of £210. I followed this with a small profitable trade.

In the 17:20 at Listowel I backed Pom Flyer for £40 @ 2.09 to give me a loss of £40. The last race trade of my day resulted in a small profit.

My race trading had resulted in a profit of £453 for the day.

In the evening I watched the Rangers v Stuttgart football match and within seconds of the final whistle I backed the correct score of 2 - 1 for £171 @ 1.03 to produce a profit of £5.

My day had finished with a profit of £458.

Tuesday 18th September 2007

It was not a good day for the Sports Trader today after making my first  wrong move in a Twenty20 match. I traded on 4 horse races 2 cricket matches and 1 football match.

My day started with the Twenty20 cricket match between England and New Zealand and I made a real blunder by backing England for £800 @ 1.38 just  at the wrong time as with the next ball the price went against me after a wicket was taken and I was left with few options to trade out. I could have got out about 15 minutes later with just a small loss but decided England would come through, however they didn't so I made a loss of £770 on the match.

My horse race trading got under way at 14:25 with a small loss followed by a small profit. Then came the best trade of my day in the 15:30 at Thirsk as I laid Generous Jim for £629 @ 3.00 to result in a profit of £629.

The last race trade of my day came in the 16:55 at Listowel where I laid Head Waiter for £82 @ 9.50 before backing back £14 @ 12.00 to produce a profit of £68.

My race trading had returned a profit of £696.

In the evening I traded on the Shakhtar Donetsk v Celtic football match. By the time I had got settled down to this match it was already 2 - 0 with only 10 minutes played. I decided to have a back of the under 2.50 goals for £71 @ 7.70. I then gradually laid off in £10 lots @ 6.56, 6.00, 5.17, 4.85, 4.33, 3.94 and 3.70 which left me with no liability and then slowly greened up to leave a profit of £82 no matter the result.

My day, which had looked very bad early on, finished with a loss of £52.

Monday 17th September 2007

A good start to the week for the Sports Trader with 5 horse races 1 cricket match and 1 football match traded.

Although I ended up with a good result my first trade was not great. It was in the 15:15 at Listowel where I had backed Tuscan Evening for £352 @ 2.06 and then put up a lay to cover my liability @ 1.77 but only got matched for £250 so I ended the race with a loss of £102. My next trade resulted in a small loss.

In the 15:50 at Musselburgh I backed Kings Point for £157 @ 2.10 to give me my best result of the day and a profit of £173.

In the 15:45 at Listowel I backed Paco Jack for £348 @ 2.20 before laying off @ 2.12. I then backed again for £46 @ 2.20 which I laid off @ 1.75 and finally I laid again for £38 @ 1.97 to result in a profit of £38.

My next and final race trade was also at Listowel, in the 17:15, and this time I backed Tomorrow's Dream for £116 @ 1.40 to give me a profit of £46.

My race trading had finished with a profit of £152.

Now I turned my attention to the Twenty20 cricket match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka where I had a total of 10 trades but the ones that mattered were when I backed Pakistan for £350 @ 1.59 which I laid off @ 1.39 within seconds and a further back of Pakistan for £604 @ 1.30 which was laid off again within seconds @ 1.15. Both these trades where as wickets were taken and they resulted in a profit of £154.

In the evening I traded on the Derby v Newcastle football match. I started with the under 2.5 goals market where I backed the unders for £540 @ 1.64 and laid off at an average of 1.52 to produce a profit of £57. With 6 minutes left I also backed  under 1.5 goals for £37 @ 1.22 to secure another £8 profit.

My day had finished with a profit of £371.

Sunday 16th September 2007

Well the Sports Trader had a very unusual, but enjoyable day today as I decided to go to Loch Lomond for lunch that turned into an all day outing and I therefore didn't trade at all.

Lochlomond

My week had finished with a profit of £801.

Saturday 15th September 2007

The Sports Trader had a good day after trading on 12 horse races and 3 football matches.

My day started with 2 trades that ended with small profits. My next was in the St.Leger Stakes at Doncaster where I backed Lurcano for £307 @ 1.20 after laying the same horse for £2 @ 5.00 to result in a profit of £54. I followed this with another 2 trades that resulted in small profits.

In the 15:50 at Doncaster I laid Duff for £15 @ 3.95 to give me a profit of £15. Then in the 16:05 at Goodwood I backed Beckermet for £20 @ 2.10 and a further £500 @ 1.02 approaching the finishing line to result in a profit of £34. My next 3 race trades all finished with small profits.

The best result of my day came in the 17:30 at Doncaster where I backed The Illies for £323 @ 1.50 to give me a profit of £162. The last race trade of my day came in the 20:50 at Kempton where I managed to produce a small profit.

My race trading had therefore resulted in a profit of £307.

The first football match I traded was the Plymouth v Cardiff game. I started trading on the under 2.5 goals market with a back of the unders for £300 @ 1.86 with the 1 goal already scored. I managed to lay off all but £50 @ an average price of 1.70 before the second goal was scored. I then laid off £10 @ 2.26 when the third goal was scored leaving me with a loss of £40.

I moved on to the under 3.5 goals and backed £93 @ 1.60 just before the 4th goal was scored so I now had a further £93 loss. Next I backed the correct score of 2 -2 for £453 @ 1.17 with just 2 minutes of the match to go and this did produce a profit of £77, so my match result was a loss of £56.

I had a very quick trade on the Chelsea v Blackburn match where I backed under 2.50 goals for £690 @ 1.02 with just 6 minutes left on the clock to produce a profit of £14.

My final trades of the day came in the Athletic Bilbao v Real Zaragoza match where I backed the under 2.5 goals for £50 @ 10.00 after the second very early goal had been scored. Within minutes I had laid off half of my liability @ 6.50 and then I gradually laid off the rest before finally greening up with a lay of £50 @ 1.50 to leave me with a profit of £50.

My day had finished with a profit of £315.

Friday 14th September 2007

It was another quiet but good day for the Sports Trader as I traded on 6 horse races and 1 Twenty20 cricket match.

My first 2 race trades resulted in small profits. In the 15:00 at Bangor I laid Ice Tea for £450 @ 2.20 before backing back £304 at an average of 2.80. I then laid Ice tea for a further £6 @ 12.00 to leave me with a profit of £152.

In the 16:10 at Bangor I backed Country Escape for £38 @ 2.48 to result in a profit of £56.

I had 3 more trades that all resulted in small profits which left me  with a total profit of £221 on the day from race trading.

In the Twenty20 match that I traded, the clash between India and Pakistan I had built up a reasonable profit on both India and Pakistan only to see the match end in a draw, so no profit.

My day had therefore finished with a profit of £221.

Thursday 13th September 2007

The Sports Trader had a slow day with just 1 cricket match, 4 horse races and 2 snooker matches traded.

My day started with the Twenty20 cricket match between Bangladesh and West Indies. I have found these matches good for trading with the odds changing very quickly and it is a case of getting the first trade right which then allows you to trade comfortably through the match. With this match I managed to back Bangladesh for £500 @ 1.35 just before the odds dropped down to 1.16 where I laid off all my first trade. I then had a few more very quick trades to leave me with a profit of £103.

My horse race trading was very uneventful as all 4 trades resulted in small profits to leave me with a total profit of £13.

In the evening I traded on 2 of the Premier League snooker matches. In the first one I laid the draw for £15 @ 26.00 which resulted in a profit of £15. In the second one I started backing Ronnie O Sullivan for £143 @ 1.90 but soon had to trade out of this when it appeared the Rocket wasn't firing properly. To lay Ronnie was going to leave me with a big loss so I decided to lay the draw and ended up losing £16 on the match.

My day had finished with a profit of £115.

Wednesday 12th September 2007

It was a decent day for the Sports Trader today after trading on 6 horse races, 1 cricket match and 1 football match.

I started my day with the 14:15 at Uttoxeter where I backed Prince De Bersy for £100 @ 3.20. This resulted in my only loss of the day at £100. I followed up with 4 small but profitable trades.

My last race trade of the day was in the 17:05 at Uttoxeter where I laid Innbrodericksbar for £100 @ 6.00 to result in a profit of £100.

My horse race trading had finished with a profit of £4.

In the evening I traded the Australia v Zimbabwe Twenty20 cricket match. This was just a case of laying Australia for £23 @ 1.60, £100 @ 2.10 and £6 @ 3.80 to result in a profit of £129.

Later I traded the England v Russia European Qualifying football match. I backed the under 2.5 goals soon after the second goal had been scored for £25 @ 5.35 and laid this off @ 3.90 for £21 and 4.33 for £5. I then gradually greened up my position until I had a profit of £16 no matter the result.

My day had finished with a profit of £150.

Tuesday 11th September 2007

The Sports Trader ended another very quiet day with a loss after trading on just 5 horse races and 1 cricket match.

My day start in the worst possible way with a sizable loss as I had backed Thought Is Free for £176 @ 1.72, in the 14:10 at Lingfield, whilst in the lead and looking comfortable. She was headed with a furlong to go and I could not trade out so I lost £176.

In the 15:00 at Beverley I laid Miss Daawe for £86 @ 10.00 to result in a profit of £86.

Next came my second and last loss of the day as I backed Splendid Susie for £137 @ 2.12, in the 15:45 at Galway, again as she was leading but only to see her headed inside the final furlong, this time to cost me £137.

In the 16:10 at Lingfield I backed Missit for £163 @ 2.10 and then laid off @ 1.30 to result in a profit of £130.

My final race trade of the day was in the 18:20 at Galway where I laid Vinatieri for £10 @ 8.50 to result in a profit of £10.

My race trading had finished with a loss of £87.

In the evening I traded on the South Africa v West Indies Twenty20 cricket match. I started off backing the West Indies for £217 @ 2.45 and laying this all off at an average price of 2.25. Towards the end of the game I started to lay the West Indies and managed to end up with a profit of £75.

My day had therefore finished with a small loss of £12.
