I have not had a great day today - no mistakes - just trades going against me and I needed the two Spanish football matches to come to my rescue. My day started with the 12:40 at Chepstow where I had just backed Miss Mitch for £200 @ 1.50 as she fell at the 2nd last fence which cost me the £200 not the ideal start for this job as you do feel under pressure until you make up the deficit, and, of course, resist the urge to chase. In the next race the 12:55 at Sandown I made up for some of my loss by backing Magnesium for £86 @ 2.86 approaching the final hurdle to give me a £159 profit. I then had several small trades before The Tingle Creek Chase at 14:35 at Sandown. I should have taken more notice of Russ Wiseman and his Betdaq Exchange Views Blog as Kauto Star really did show his class in this race. I did have a few small trades in the race and ended up with a £14 profit. I had a further few small trades and then in the 14:55 at Wetherby I backed Royal Rosa for £200 @ 1.50 and layed back @ 1.42 to leave a profit of £16. My afternoon was then interrupted by some visitors so the next race of significance was the 16:20 at Kempton where I listened to James Willoughby on RUK when he thought that Mo would lead from the start and would probably tire in the final furlong, so I had a lay ready for the final furlong and managed to Lay Mo for £56 @ 3.60 to net me a £56 profit. Then came the 17:20 at Kempton where I managed to back Bomber Command for £150 @ 1.65 in the final furlong and thinking my money was safe only to see the earlier back marker Vacation to come and mug me on the line to cost me £150. So my racing day ended with a loss of £100.
My favourite football is the Spanish La Liga. Partly because I used to work in Spain and watched a lot of live football over there but also because the games are always exciting with many of the biggest names in World football playing there. After the English Premiership, La Liga has the next highest amount of games ending with less than 2.5 goals within the main European leagues. First up tonight was the Levante v Barcelona match, with Barcelona expected to win and goals were predicted so a cautious approach was taken. I backed the unders for £362 soon after kick off and proceeded to lay back from 1.56. The first goal came a few minutes before half time by which time I was out of my liability. I then backed the unders again for £380 @ 1.65 and started to lay off after half time @ 1.51 down to 1.40 then continued to lay the unders to green up. After the second goal I backed the unders for another £122 @ 1.26 with 14 minutes of the match left. I layed this off at 1.20 to 1.16 and leave me with a profit of £176 on both sides. There then came the second match of the night with Real Betis taking on Atletico Madrid. This time according to SoccerSTATS.com a low scoring match was expected. I backed the unders before kick off for £316 @ 1.53 and layed off more slowly at 1.48 down to 1.36. I was all out of my liability when the goal came and went straight back in with a back of £500 @ 1.71 and again slowly layed off from 1.66 down to 1.27. Towards the last 20 minutes I backed the unders again for £220 @ 1.15 which I layed off at 1.12 to 1.03 then greened up to leave me with £97 what ever the result. So the end result for the day was a profit of £172 which is not great for a Saturday but a lot better than it looked like earlier in the day.
