Thanks for all the messages I have received over the last few days. It's very good to know that people care. On that subject Brian the author of Life of Brian could do with some support just now.
Yesterday's trading was very light for me. I traded on 8 races and did not have a losing trade. My first 5 trades were all very small profitable ones and my first significant trade was in the 13:35 at Sedgefield. I backed Terlan for £101 @ 2.90 and laid off £100 @ 2.70 to leave me with a profit of £22.
In the 14:20 at Southwell I backed Tiegs for £1000 @ 1.10 just as she regained the lead about 5 yards form the finishing line to give me a £100 profit.
My final final trade on the day was in the 15:35 at Sedgefield and here I backed Cloudmor for £200 @ 1.05, whilst well in the lead and on the run in to result in a profit of £10. So my day was over with a final result of a £137 profit.
If you have ever thought about looking into Sports Arbitrage there is a very good offer on at the moment from BetRiskFree where, for £1, you can have a month's trial of there service which also includes free SMS alerts. On average they advise 20 arbs a month and the service comes with the guarantee that if you do not receive arb info to earn you 10 times your monthly fees you can claim a full refund. You also have free access to an arbitrage calculator even if you don't take their service.
Like you I am glad I missed the Pool game - I believe in fate and it was not meant to be traded on. Thank goodness as we all would have had our fingers burnt. Fair play to the long odds backers on a match like this though. The 7+ goals market is one to be avoided when reserve teams are playing I think!! Good luck and the blogg is superb. As "The Gambler" says ust keep telling yourself "it is a marathon not a sprint". Regards from Dublin. baaaa

Ray,
Do you get involved in much arbing? I was having a quick go at trading on the Villa Chelsea match last week and noticed something odd. After a couple of minutes somebody stuck up about 3 grand at 1.8 on the unders on Betdaq. It was only slowly taken, and in the meantime the unders had dropped to 1.7 on Betfair - did make me wonder about the possibilities for arbing between the two in running. Is this something you get involved in, or do you think it's too risky?
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,
That is something that I have looked at but had always found arbing too awkward as you had to have quite a few accounts open and funded. But arbing between exchanges seems a lot easier in particular you can see the price and amount available on your screen so it takes away some of the uncertainty of placing bets with traditional bookies where until you go to place the bet you are not certain of the price or how much they will let you have on.

I was arbing for a couple of months last year. I knew I was under funded when I started but expected to be able to add to my funds to get nearer the amount needed. Also I was keen to get started so that I could be learning how to do it as I went along and YES arbing does work but
DO NOT attempt to do it with less than 3k and it is better if you can trade with 5k or more.
It is impossible to trade all of your bank each day as often the money has ended up in a different bookie from the one you want to use with the trade you made yesterday or the day before and you can't move it without incurring a cost which would rob you of your arbing profit. Or you can move it but you need a couple of days to get it to where you want it and you want to use it now.
You have to move fast with arbing and it is possible to get caught out sometimes when odds change at one bookie or another.
I would do it again if I had 5k or upwards although if I had that money to work with I would choose to trade forex with it, using the hedging carry trade system.
I also found the cost of the software that gave the arb details was too expensive to let me make money arbing unless I had a large arbing bank to cover the cost of it each month and also make some profit.

Wizard,
The arbing is ok, its the moving of all the money that is always the problem as you have found out.
