I am getting too old for nights out in Glasgow as I have been feeling pretty groggy all day, perhaps it was the champagne cocktails that my daughter insisted we drank, or could it have been the pints of Stella, or even the Vodka, then again it was almost certainly the shot of paint stripper that Jenny's friend bought for me. Why do young people want to drink shots. Have you seen the faces they pull after swallowing them, they surely don't enjoy them.
Well my day got off to a very bad start in the 13:35 at Punchestown where I had backed De Valira for £423 @ 2.20 and put up a lay for the whole amount @ 1.60. I only got matched for £126 so ended up losing £297, not the best of starts and I was therefore on the back foot for the rest of the day.
To make the situation even worse, in my next race I had a small losing trade. Next was the 14:00 at Mussleburgh and here I started with a lay on Key Time for £514 @ 1.23. I soon realised I was on the wrong side with this trade and backed the same horse for £514 @ 1.15, I then backed him for £200 @ 1.20, and again for £132 @ 1.20 to end the race with a profit of £27.
Next I had a small but profitable trade. Then I traded the 14:10 at Fontwell with a lay on Madison Avenue of £67 @ 4.90 before backing back £7 @ 6.00 to leave me with a profit of £60.
Next I had 6 small trades with all but one profitable. This led me to the 15:40 at Fontwell where I backed Le Passing for £36 @ 1.16 and a further £87 @ 1.08 before laying off £50 @ 1.02 and then on the line backing £237 @ 1.01 to leave me with a profit of £14.
I then had another 3 small, profitable trades. Then in the 16:45 at Punchestown I backed Judge Roy Bean for £53 @ 2.50 before laying off @ 2.20 to give me a profit of £15. My last race of the day was the 16:55 at Limerick and here I laid Spirit of Freedom for £44 @ 4 to net me a profit of £44. The final result for my racing day was therefore a loss of £108.
I missed most of the evenings football with having to go and pick my children up. So the only other event I traded in was the FBR Golf tournament. I only caught the last 4 holes and backed Aaron Baddeley for £50 @ 1.10 and £264 @ 1.08 both on the final two holes to give me a profit of £26.
My day has finished with a disappointing loss of £82. My result for the week has been good with an overall profit of £1712.
Hi Ray,
It's good to see you back on-line again - my toast just doesn't taste the same in the morning, without your blog to read !
Hope you have another good week...
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your comments and I will try not to spoil your breakfast again. It is likely to happen on Saturday 24th February as that is the night of my son's 21st Birthday Party.
Good Luck with your trading.
