The Sports Trader has been feeling decidedly off colour today so I have taken things easy. It was good to see a full quota of racing today, but I only managed to trade in 9 races, 1 football match and 2 of tonight's Premier League Darts matches.
It's good to see Dave Stewart's Horse Graphs having a very good winning spell. That's the third day in a row, with a total of 26.5 points profit. I like the concept of graphs to show differences in form and speed.
My first trade today was a very small winning one. In the 13:40 at Chepstow I backed Snow Patrol for £50 @ 1.65 and laid off @ 1.65 to secure a profit of £12. My next was the 14:00 at Kelso where I laid Euro American for £12 @ 3.30 to secure another profit of £12.
Next was my only losing trade of the day. It was in the 14:15 at Thurles where I backed Tawnies for £50 @ 1.70 when in the lead but he was soon headed and I had lost my £50.
I made amends for that loss in the 14:35 at Kelso as I backed Bywell Beau for £20 @ 2.00, £5 @ 1.90 and for £354 @ 1.10 with a furlong to go but well in the lead to net me a profit of £60.
I had 4 more small but all profitable races to end my racing day with a profit of £50.
I had some very small trades on Phil Taylor in his Premier League darts match with Terry Jenkins to win just £2. My main darts trading was in the final match of the evening between Dennis Priestley and Roland Scholten. I laid the draw for £74 @ 10.00 when Dennis was 6 - 0 up and thought I had done wrong when Roland went on to win the next 4 legs on the trot but Dennis came back to form and won easily. I did lay Dennis for £510 @ 1.02 to partially cover any possible mishap, to land me a profit of £64.
I flicked between darts and football earlier in the evening and managed to watch the last 5 minutes of the Zulte-Waregem v Newcastle match. With just 40 seconds of injury time left and the ball in possession of Newcastle I backed the 3 - 1 correct score market for £450 @ 1.13 and secured a very welcome £64 profit.
The final result for my day was a profit of £172.
