Well after the excitement of my family visiting and seeing Josie off at the airport earlier today the Sports Trader has had a very difficult day of trading. One of those days that, if it can go wrong, it will go wrong. I traded in 12 horse races and 3 darts matches and had 5 losing trades.
I started off trading in the 14:20 at Catterick which resulted in a small profit. In the 14:10 at Hereford I backed Constant Approach for £40 @ 1.82 before laying off @ 1.44 and in the final furlong I backed her again for £2 @ 1.10 to result in a profit of £15.
My next trade was in the 15:10 at Hereford where I laid Gappersonneldotcom for £25 @ 7.30 to leave me with a profit of £25. I followed this with 3 small winning trades.
Then my day started to go wrong in the 17:30 at Folkestone where I laid Torrens for £238 @ 1.94 and backed back £224 @ 2.09. I then managed to back him for a further £80 @ 1.74 and laid off £22 @ 5.60 to result in a loss of £45.
In the 17:45 at Huntingdon I started with a lay of Garnett for £50 @ 3.30 and then I backed him for £35 @ 3.50 to result in a loss of £27.
Things got a lot worse in the 18:55 at Tipperary where I laid Aqrann for £25 @ 1.91 and a further £33 @ 5.00 when looking held by Boule Masquee only to see him touched off by a short head on the line to cost me £154.
Next was the 19:25 also at Tipperary where I laid Pontchartin for £50 @ 1.59 to cost me another £30. A little light relief was had in the next race which resulted in a small profit.
I finished off my race trading with another loss by backing Gray's Anatomy in the 20:25 at Tipperary for £73 @ 2.86 to cost me £73.
So my race trading had finished and I had ended up losing £276.
I was in recovery mode throughout the evening and traded in 3 of the Premier League darts matches. I had missed all of the first match so I started with the Colin Lloyd v Dennis Priestly contest. I started with a lay of Colin for £144 @ 1.35 before backing him for £237 @ 1.20. Later I backed Colin again for £250 @ 1.40 and £310 @ 1.67 and then laid off £670 @ 1.25 to leave me with a profit of £138.
In the Peter Manley v Terry Jenkins match I backed Peter for £94 @ 2.94 and then laid off £15 @ 2.33, £26 @ 2.17 and £53 @ 2.02. Later I laid him again for £21 @ 1.70 to result in a profit of £21.
Then finally it was the match that most people had been waiting for between Phil 'The Power' Taylor and Raymond 'Barney' Van Barneveld. There were some good prices available on Phil from the start of the match but I waited until Phil was leading 4 - 1and decided to start laying the draw. My first lay was for £77 @ 8.30 and I followed this with a lay of £25 @ 14.00 and then with Phil leading 7 -5 and Barney just scoring another maximum I laid the draw for £400 @ 3.50, within a couple of minutes the match was over and The Power had extended his unbeaten run in The Premier League to 42 matches spanning three years. I had just repaired all the damage I had suffered earlier in the day with a profit of £502 on the match.
My day had therefore finished with a profit of £385.
Surely this weekend money is going on the de la Hoya vs Mayweather fight... who are you backing?

Hi Andy,
Boxing is not a sport that I know too much about but I see that Mayweather is a strong favourite for the match. I will probably take a look at the fight in-running. Good Luck.
