The Sports Trader has had a successful but quite day. I only traded in 3 horse races and 1 football match. My day was very enjoyable as my eldest son Oliver came to visit this morning and we serviced his car. I also got to speak to my second eldest daughter, Josie, who is on holiday in South Africa, via skype. Late in the afternoon I had a telephone call from Carlisle court informing me that the Lloyds TSB bank has agreed to pay in full, including all costs, my claim for the repayment of all bank charges over a 6 year period totalling in excess of £4,000. If any readers have ever had to pay bank charges over the last 6 years I would urge you to claim them back as no bank has yet refused to settle. It is a simple process, costs very little and applies to personal as well as business accounts.
My first trade to report on was the final of the World snooker Championship that finished in the early hours of this morning. I had not been following the tournament as I always give preference to horse racing. I watched just the last three frames and had a small trade on John Higgins to win for £243 @ 1.06 and laid off £173 @ 1.02 to result in a profit of £11. Also in the final frame I backed Higgins again on the -4.5 handicap market for £300 @ 1.01 to give me a profit of £3..
I had to wait until the 15:40 at Southwell before having my first horse race trade. I backed Lucky Lover for £20 @ 1.14 and laid Orpen Wide for £17 @ 8.80 to result in a profit of £20. My other 2 horse race trades both resulted in small profits.
So my very short race trading day had resulted in a profit of £22.
In the live football match between Oxford and Exeter I started off by backing the under 2.5 goal market for £25 @ 3.86 after the first 2 goals had already been scored. I laid this off @ 3.15. I then backed the unders again for £210 @ 3.02 and laid off £110 @ 2.90, £50 @ 2.76 and £25 @ 2.67 before the third goal was scored leaving me with a loss of £25.
I then backed the under 3.5 goals for £50 @ 1.60 which I didn't lay off to result in a profit of £30. During extra time I backed the draw for £125 @ 1.35 and laid off £75 @ 1.12 and £50 @ 1.04 to result in a profit of £33. I also traded during the penalty shoot out and ended with no profit or loss as I had worked into a position of a profit on Oxford winning of £50 and by the time I had changed my view it was not possible to green up.
So my day had finished with a profit of £74.
