The Sports Trader had another disrupted day as I was without my Au-pair again. I did trade in 11 races but ended with a small loss after my last trade of the day went wrong. It was good to see the opening ceremony of Royal Ascot. I love that sort of thing and it makes me proud to be British.
My day started off with a small winning trade in the 14:30 at Ascot. Then in the 15:45 St.James's Palace Stakes I backed Excellent Art on the run in for £110 @ 1.10 to result in a profit of £11.
Next was the 16:05 at Thirsk where I laid Borodinsky for £10 @ 21.00 to give me a profit of £10. I followed this with a small winning trade.
The first of my two losses of the day came next in the 18:45 at Newton Abbot where I had backed South Wind Rising for £40 @ 1.25 when appearing to have the race won, only to see Mr Tim come and take the race, which cost me £40. I followed this with a small winning trade.
In the 19:15 at Newton Abbot I laid Darusso for £100 @ 5.50 and then went on to back back £32 @ 7.00, £5 @ 20.00 and £12 @ 13.00 to leave me with a profit of £52. Next was another small profitable trade.
In the 19:45 at Newton Abbot I laid Gipsy Cricketer for £24 @ 12.00 to result in a profit of £24. Then in the 21:00 at Yarmouth I backed Dramatic for £214 @ 1.48 before laying all off @ 1.36 to give me a profit of £26.
It hadn't been a great day but the last race took all my profits away. It was in the 21:15 at Newton Abbot where I laid Ambrosinni for £184 @ 3.70. I did lay off £44 @ 4.47, £21 @ 5.60 and £34 @ 5.00 but I was still left with a loss of £110 on the race.
My day had therefore finished with a loss of just under £10.
