Well it looked like the Sports Trader was going to have a very bad day after my first trade, but I recovered the situation and ended in positive territory after trading on 7 horse races, 1 cricket match and 1 football match.
My day started with the 15:15 at Hamilton where I laid Mayadeen for £79 @ 8.00 when being driven to try to close on the leaders and making no impression. However this trade was a little premature, as soon after he picked up and went on to win by half a length to cost me £554. I followed this with a small winning trade.
My next trade was on the 19:00 at Lingfield where I laid Rio Princess for £11 @ 3.70 to result in an £11 profit.
The best result of my day came in the 19:30 at Lingfield where I backed China Cherub for £189 @ 4.06 to recover all of my earlier loss with a profit of £578.
In the 19:45 at Thirsk I laid Zhitomir for £10 @ 16.00 to give me a £10 profit and in the next at Thirsk I laid Jibajaba for £26 @ 12.00 for a £26 profit.
My last race trade of the day was in the 20:30 at Lingfield where I laid Bold Argument for £28 @ 18.00 for a profit of £28.
My race trading had finished with a profit of £101.
As soon as the racing had finished I thought I would have a look at the Sussex v Essex Twenty20 Cricket Cup match. I started with a back of Essex for 334 @ 2.27 and laid off at an average of 1.87 and then in the second last over and with the fall of another wicket I backed Sussex for £756 @ 1.06 to result in a profit of £42.
Later I traded the USA v Poland under 20 football match. With the score at 3 - 1 to USA I backed USA to win for £327 @ 1.14 and laid off at 1.01 after the USA scored another goal. This resulted in a profit of £46. I then decided to back No 7th goal for £75 @ 1.82 and put up a lay at 1.65. Before my lay had been matched another goal was scored to cost me £75.
My day had therefore finished with a profit of £113.
