Sorry for the late update which was due mainly to me not feeling too good, so I had an early night. This may also have had a little to do with my performance which was pretty bad.
My day had started with the Peru v Bolivia football match in the early hours of the morning. I had missed the start of the match and decided to back the under 2.5 goals with £290 @ 2.00 I had put a lay up for the whole amount at 1.91 but only had £90 matched by the time the next goal was scored. I had to take a telephone call and by the time I got back to the match 3 goal had been scored. I did look around to see if I could salvage the situation on any other markets and had a few trades on the match result. I had got a very healthy potential profit on Bolivia but the game ended in a draw and therefore only made £2. So my day had got off to a loss of £198.
With only race meeting beating the weather in the afternoon and low liquidity, it was not looking to be a great day. I started with 2 small winning trades. Then in the 17:05 at Catterick I backed Turn Of Phrase for £100 @ 1.20 and a further £100 @ 1.05 to result in a profit of £25.
Next came another 2 small winning trades. My day got a lot worse with the 19:00 at Leopardstown where I had backed Minneapolis for £290 @ 1.30 when in the lead and inside the last furlong, but with 100 yds to go he was headed, and with no possibility of trading out of the situation this cost me £290.
In the 19:50 at Kempton I laid Plane Painter for £29 @ 13.00 to result in a profit of £29. Next was the 20:50 at Kempton and here I laid Thorny Mandate for £10 @ 13.00 for another £10 profit.
My final race trade of the day was in the 21:20 at Kempton where I laid Young Bertie for £2 @ 10.00 and Mine The Balance for £12 @ 48.00 to result in a profit of £14.
My day had finished with a loss of £398.
