Horse race trading let down the Sports Trader today but I did manage to turn things around with my favourite football trade later in the day. I only traded on 6 horse races and 1 football match.
My day got off to a bad start with the 15:20 at Lingfield where I had laid Treetops Hotel for £30 @ 3.00. I did back the horse back for £333 @ 1.02 when it became apparent that it would win to limit my loss to £53.
My next trade produced another loss, this was in the 15:40 at Mussleburgh where I backed Nero West for £15 @ 5.00 to result in a loss of £15.
Next was the 16:00 at Wolverhampton where at last I produced a profit after backing Chord for £88 @ 1.33 before laying all off @ 1.20. I also laid Global Traffic for £3 to produce a profit of £14.
In the 18:45 at Bellewstown I laid Silent Jo for £33 @ 6.00 for another profit of £33. Next came my worst result of the day, in the 19:15 at Bellewstown where I backed Moscow Mo Chuisle for £55 @ 1.33, only to see her beaten by a neck to cost me £55.
The last race trade of my day resulted in a small profit which left me with a loss of £68 on the day from race trading.
In the evening I decided to try and make amends by trading the under 2.5 goals market on the Blackburn v MyPa football match. I thought the price on offer was very generous but as my day had not been to good I decided to take a cautious approach and therefore started with a back of the unders for £112 @ 2.60. I started laying off @ 2.50 for £38 and then @ 1.95 for £29. Next I backed the unders for a further £27 @ 2.00 and then began laying off @ 1.91 for £24, 1.63 for £25 and 1.51 for £25 to leave me with no liability. At this stage I had a visitor call round to my house so I made one further lay to partially green up @ 1.43 for £25. the match finished with a 2 -0 score line in favour of Blackburn which left me with a profit of £70.
So my day had finished with a profit of £2.
