The Sports Trader has had a very quiet day today mainly due to going out with Oliver and Jennifer for Sunday lunch and then because I watched most of the Concert for Diana, which I wish had lasted another 30 minutes as it would have saved me giving up most of the days profits on a football match. I have always had a soft spot for Lady Di and to me she was exactly how a true Princess should be, not only was she truly beautiful, but she was a very caring and giving person that used her status and fame to the benefit of so many poor and sick people throughout the World. Todays programme was a fitting tribute to her on what would have been her 46th birthday and almost the 10th anniversary of her death.
My day started in the early hours of the morning where I traded the under 2.5 goals market of the Venezuela v Peru football match. I only got involved late in the match when I backed the unders for £262 @ 1.57 and laid off at between 1.44 and 1.32. Later with less than 5 minutes to play I backed the unders for a further £217 @ 1.24 to result in a profit of £88.
I only traded on 7 horse races today and they all ended in small profits.
After the Lady Di concert I watched the Brazil v Chile football match. I backed the under 2.5 goals when the score was 0 - 0 for 167 @ 1.83 of which I laid off £67 @ 1.68 and £100 @ 1.62. Later in the match I backed the unders for £194 @ 1.13 and had laid off £154 @ 1.08 when the second goal was scored. I then backed the unders for £62 @ 1.41 and had already submitted a lay for my outstanding liability of £102 @ 1.37 and watched the delay countdown clock tick to 1 second when the third goal was scored. So I was 1 second away from having no liability but as it happens I lost £102. I did have a s,all trade on the under 3.5 goals but with so little time left to go could only make a small profit.
My day therefore ended with a profit of £6.
This has been a good week, with no losing days and only 4 losses out of the 70 trades that I had and resulted in a profit for the week of £1793.
