The Sports trader is back from my few days off in Ukraine. I can now confirm that Lugansk is the home of thousands of extremely beautiful women. You can walk down any street and they will be lined with model type women, all of them dressed perfectly in short skirts, tight jeans or figure hugging slinky short dresses. It is as if every street is a cat walk in a Paris or London fashion show. They are also very well educated. I will be going back with out a doubt. The average wage in this part of the world is around £100 - £150 / month, with many state workers earning just £40 / month. Petrol is less than 50p / Lt. The other thing that may interest you is that the average temperature during my stay was 35C with a possibility of 45C later this week. Their summers are summers and their winters are cold.
Well my first day back trading was not good. I am still having problems with my au-pair, it is not her fault, as she has family problems that have a knock-on effect on her availability and therefore to my trading. I did trade on 17 races but had three losses, one of which was big.
My first trade resulted in a small profit. In the 14:20 at Hamilton I laid Premium Port for £18 @ 40.00 to result in a profit of £18.
In the 14:45 at Kilarney I laid That's Our Luck for £25 @ 38.00 for another £25 profit. I followed this with a small profit.
My first losing trade was in the 15:50 at Leicester where I had backed Rallying Cry for £8 @ 1.51 before cancelling the rest of this position to result in a loss of £8. Next came a small profitable trade.
The big loss of my day came in the 17:00 at Leicester where I had laid Alaghiraar for £60 @ 5.00, whilst having all sorts of traffic problems, well back in the field with a furlong to go, only to see Richard Hills do the almost impossible and get him up near the finish to cost me £239. Next came another small profit.
In the 17:20 at Cartmel I laid Edas for £33 @ 4.00 to result in a profit of £33. I followed this with another small profitable trade.
My third and final loss of the day came in the 17:40 at Hamilton where I backed Rare Coincidence for £30 @ 1.85 to cost me £30. My next 5 races all finished with small profits.
The last trade of my day came in the 20:20 at Sandown where I laid Encircled for 14 @ 16.00 to finish up with a profit of £14.
So my first day back has ended in a loss of £167.
